Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Erykah Badu and The Roots live in concert. I have wanted to see Erykah for years, and I finally got the chance. She delivered an amazing show. The Roots were also brilliant, you know an act is good when you aren't familiar with their work but they STILL have you jamming.
Here is Erykah's setlist, I may have missed one or two (It was a 2 hr set, she did A LOT lol)
My People (Intro)
New Amerikah
The Healer
Me
My People
Soilder

Bag Lady
(an old skool song I can't think of the name of but Janet Jackson sampled with Missy lol)
Honey
Didn't Ya Know
She has an incredible voice, but it not only her voice that I loved, she was kooky and funny, at times it was like what I'd imagine being at a Bjork show is like. Between songs at the beginning she fiddled around on her Mac and sipped from a flask, then when the band played some old country style song she stumbled around drinking from her cup pretending to be drunk!
One of the funniest parts was when she changed into a black dancers outfit and started doing modern dance/ballet moves and playing with two beach balls on stage while singing Green Eyes. She even did a bit of crowd surfing in Bag Lady.. well as much as she could security held her feet, while the front rows of the crowd had the rest of her.

Not only was she funny and kooky, she was also inspiring. She talked for a short while about the power each of us have to make a difference in the world and then launched into Solider (which is the second single) which everyone was totally feeling :D
It was a fanatastic evening, the only thing that was missing was a bit of Tyrone, which everyone was screaming for by the end but she did Didn't Ya Know, which is a personal favorite so I forgive her, and there was so much other great material played from all her albums :D
Here is Bag Lady which I taped last night.....More videos coming soon to our YouTube channel!
