SARAH MCLEOD: White Horse

Sarah McLeod tells us that we don't need a white horse to steer us back onto course...and you know what? We believe her! Her raspy voice mixed with a hot dance beat by Whelan & DJ Scala and a sample of Kelis' massive hit track 'Milkshake' makes this our favorite right now. Enjoy!

MADONNA, DONNA DeLORY, NIKI HARIS: The Trio & Sticky & Sweet Tour background vocalist info

It's been a long time since the Madonna, Donna DeLory and Niki Haris have performed on stage together so we are going to re-unite them here today :)  Rumors still stand that due to Niki doing an interview in 2003 talking about Madonna's love life only Donna remains in recent tours however it's said to be confirmed that Donna will not be taking part in the Sticky and Sweet Tour.  Niki was replaced by Siedah Garret (RIT) / Nicki Richards (CT).  Nicki Richards is said to be confirmed for the Sticky and Sweet Tour by multiple sources and a 2nd back up singer has not been released.  Here is a track from each of these artist in the what seems to be the retired "Trio" and maybe one day these ladies will mesmerize us on the stage again.

"I've asked The Script to do a duet and the Guillemots have given me one of their tracks to listen to. I would love to do something with them or Alphabeat, and Kate Nash is dope."
At weekend, Kelly Rowland also hinted that her former group Destiny's Child may reform in 2009.

GEORGE MICHAEL: Live at Madison Square Garden

So we were lucky enough to see the George Michael gig at MSG earlier this week. It was a really great show at much to our suprise George can still cut it vocally. He was also dancing his ass and the crowd was really into it. He kept saying that no-one in America really got any further than his Faith album, so they played a lot from that.

We LOVED that he busted out the cop outfit for Outside after being dressed in the same suit all night for him to appear in that was just like whhhhhaaatttttt?!

Even the newer tracks that people didn't know that well were well received. One of our concert highlights was seeing Sarah Jessica Parker in the VIP area and then being seated in her section and seeing her throughly enjoy the whole show with her friends. Very surreal but awesome :D

The setlist was great it was something like this:

Waiting (Reprise)
Fast Love
I’m Your Man (remix) into I’m Your Man (proper)
Father Figure
Hard Day (
Everything She Wants (
One More Try (gospel-style)
A Different Corner
An Easier Affair
Too Funky
Faith
Spinning the Wheel
Feeling Good (Shirley Bassey)
Roxanne (Police Cover)
Kissing a Fool
Amazing
Flawless (Go to the City)
Outside (in shades and cop uniform)
Encore 1: Careless Whisper
Encore 2: Freedom ‘90

Here's a video of Fast love that we shot :D Many more can be found on our YouTubeChannel!

RUSSELL BRAND: Host of the 2008 MTV VMA's!

MTV confirmed Thursday that comedian Russell Brand, best known in the states for his hilarious performance in the films Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Penelope, will be hosting the 2008 Video Music Awards. Not as well known as many of the previous VMA hosts (including Jack Black, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Chris Rock), this British import comes as a surprising choice for this year’s event.

The 2008 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles September 7th. Tune in to find out what Brand may have up his sleeve….or his tight leather pants.

LADY GAGA: Exclusive Interview!

We had a short chat with Lady GaGa today...and here is what she had to say!

Tell us about the 'Lady GaGa' look. Where have you found inspiration (designers, artwork, etc), or is it all from within?
I really care about fashion...it's very important to me. Fashion is very poweful. I spend a lot of time brainstorming with my friends, going on youtube, watching old movies and reading fashion magazine imported from Europe. There is so much more influence in Europe. The whole concept [ of Lady GaGa] is really.. a futuristic look...I'm very inspired by Grace Jones. I've been watching all her videos, but I always try to be forward thinking on my own.

Tell us about your musical influences, and what you are into right now.
Right now i'm listening to Crystal Castles. I've always been into David Bowie, New York Dolls and Black Sabbath. I've been listening to a lot of raw beats sent from producers trying stuff that hasn't yet been done.

What are some of your favorite albums/artists of all time?
My favorite album of all time? Oh my god, there are a bunch. It might be Abbey Road, from the Beatles. I think No Doubt's 'Tragic Kingdom' is one of the greatest records of my generation.

If you could duet with any artist dead or alive who would it be, why and what would it sound like?
I would want to work with Elvis. I don't know what it would sound like, but it would be hot!

Your album drops very soon, and we can't wait. What else can we expect from Lady GaGa this year?
A lot of underground projects, without the label...we're just doing stuff on our own. There are a few films that will be released soon.  I've been working on implementing new technology for the live show. I wrote some stuff for Britney Spears' next album that I just heard today...so i'm really excited about that. A lot of music, though, Lady Gaga is not going anywhere.

Where do find inspiration to write?
I get a lot of inspiration from old records, as well as listening to what's hot right now.  There is also a lot of 'in the moment' writing that happens in the studio. I don't want to record anything that doesn't take time and effort to write.

What is your favorite song off 'The Fame'?  What is is about, and what does it mean to you?
I'd have to say this song called 'Paparattzi. It's the first interesting 'pop' record that I wrote. I'm writing a lot of interesting and innovative tracks, but not 'pop' records. That was the beginning of me being able to use pop songs as a vehicle.  The song itself...well, I wanted to write a song about New York celebrity obsession..you know? Like these magazines have nothing better than to write about than a hot celebrity caught doing something in her car.

You've also written for other artists as well, like the Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears as you mentioned...Who else have you worked with and who was your favorite?
I did work for Britney, but I haven't met her yet. I actually heard the track I submitted to her, that she re-recorded and that was creepy. I'm also working the New Kids On The Block. I love working with Akon on my stuff, he's fuckin' brilliant.

Walk us through the concept for the 'Just Dance' video.
I really didn't want to do a video in a nightclub...that is so unoriginal. Every video i see on T.V. is in a nightclub. Ironically, my song was the only song that is actually about being drunk in a nightclub .

So I thought, how can I do a 'performance art' video...something that people can relate to and want to be a part of. I wanted to show everyone the party that I know. When my friends and I go out and party, we dress up all the time. Fashion is important and so is our individual 'artistry'.

Its our work that makes us famous, it's not money or the media. I think it's a really powerful thing when young people can strongly assert their ideas and be like...'this is what is good' and if someone says that it isn't, you say 'yes, it is...and this is why...'

A lot of people who watch the video love it, and a lot think that it is very strange.  This is exactly what I wanted.

What can we look forward to in the live show?
Oh, the show, I mean that is my favorite part, my baby.  We just keep brainstorming and coming up with what we think is new and interesting in stage design. I really made the decidsion that I didn't want my promo tour in American to feel like a promo tour.

I hate the feeling when i'm at a niteclub and an artist is doing performing to a track with a mic in their hand, and a bored look on their face. I'm not interested in 'auditioning' for the world. I'm not wasting time. You know? Like 'oh i'll audition this for you and if you like it...then i'll put the effort into the show. My philosophy is every performance should be a 100% realized concept. I want to feel like i'm playing The Garden every night.

You will see a lot of my new theatrical stage design on 'So You Think You Can Dance' next week.

You have been compared with Madonna recently, what are your thoughts on her and have you found inspiration from her? If so, in what ways?
I wouldn't say it's annoying to be compared to Madonna, but it's more annoying when i get multiple celebrity comparisons at once...and they are all blonde females. I feel like nobody really makes the effort to try to come up with better references.

Besides Madonna, I've been compared to Gwen, Christina, Debbie Harry, Cher (during her blonde years), Brigitte Bardot. I've had the same color hair as Andy Warhol, so there are other references that are closer than Madonna.  But, Madonna, more than any of them, is a legend. I hope people see the similarity that we are both creative and forward thinking.

Beyond music, is there anything else you'd like to try...or are currently working on?
I definitly started out as an Andy Warhol type of artist, I dont like to live in one medium. I just secretly shot a 4 minute movie, and i didn't tell anybody about it, and i funded the project on my own, with the money I got from my publishing deal. I could have bought a car, or a house...but I dont really care about those things so I decided to make a movie. As far as the name, I dont know that it will have one...it might just be called 'The Fame'.

W are working with a new camera that has as good quality as film but shoots digital, so we didn't have to spend that much money. It's really cool and different. Im' excited about it because its the next chapter after the 'Just Dance' video.

It's very important for people to buy my album because they love the whole thing, and not just because they love the single.

-- 'The Fame' will be released on September 16th.

MADONNA: Sticky and Sweet Merchandise

While reading through Billboard earlier we came across this section that was talking about Live Nation Artist Merchandising and much to our suprise they included this Madonna Sticky and Sweet picture and talk about Madonna in the article. Were guessing this may be an offical shirt :D What do you all think of it?

HK119: 'Mind'

We received an email about HK119 today and had to share her with you.  Dubbd by Bjork as 'The perfect blond woman,' in Q Magazine, Heidi Kilpelainen draws from David Bowie and Kraftwerk as her influences.  We also hear touches of solo-Debbie Harry's material in her style.

She brings us 'uncompromising, thought-provoking future-pop which pleases and disturbs in equal measure'.

Our friends at One Little Indian Records are pleased as punch to introduce HK119's new track 'Mind', taken from the forthcoming album, 'Fast, Cheap and Out of Control'.

The track is quickly growing on us, and we can't wait to hear the full release.

We're shooting a video for the first single, "Killer Love," this month, and I hope to have it out by the end of the year. It's more of a band sound than produced pop. Fall (Download)

MOTLEY CRUE: (Steven's Sunday Flashback!!!)

Feeling a little "Metal" today so what better way to express that then with the one and only Motley Crue. Here is a powerful track titled "Looks That Kill" and I guess what would be called a power ballad with "Home Sweet Home" With these 2 tracks we see that Motley Crue can play it hard and bring it down to tug at or rip at your heart strings. Hope you enjoy both tracks. Crue Rules!

Looks That Kill (Decadence Version)

Heaven Sent (Remix)

COMMON: Invincible Summer

We love Common because not only does he produce a good jam but his socially conscious lyrics make you think. Something that is missing from a lot of Hip Hop today.  Needless to say we're excited that he is coming out with a new album this summer called 'Invincible Summer', though Starbucks, that should be out in a few weeks. The record is produced by Mr. DJ. (of Neptunes and Outkast fame), Cee-Lo and most excitingly Santogold!

Billboard have reviewed the album and say that is 'electro tinged' and a bit of a departure from his usual sound. Common says 'I created this music for the summer time. It's about feeling good. This is the type of music I felt was missing from my body of work'

We're most excited about one of the tracks called Runaway which borrows its guitar riff from Pat Benatar's 'Love is a Battlefield'!

You can download two tracks from the album Universal Mind Control and Announcement (which features Pharrell) from iTunes now

SANTOGOLD: MTVU Backstage Pass

UFFIE: 'First Love'

So, this track isn't super new.  Uffie was recommended to me by my friend Taryn of Boomkat.  It's got this sick 80's sample throughout, love it.  Uffie, you are my first love!   Oh, and she's French!

We think its high time we did a post on Little Boots! She's been quietly doing her thing for a couple months but is now starting to take off. She recently did a DJ set at Glastonbury and performed her first acoustic gig (see below)

Today we checked out her YouTube channel which you must look at!. She's got a bunch of lo-fisynth pop and piano versions on there, including Haddaway (!) What is Love, Madonna - Material Girl, and that 'Wearing My Rolex' song, quite a bizzare collection of songs!

Head over to her MySpace and check out her songs especially 'Stuck On Repeat' which is like Donna Summer mixed with Moloko as well as her new single which is out August 4th called 'Meddle'

You can download a free Mixtape by Little Boots by clicking here to go to her website.

His book promises to be an interesting read though we're sure he's gonna have sensationalized stuff for maximum sales lol.

MADONNA & Co : Give It To Me

Madonna Tribe this morning confirmed that Britney Spears will indeed be featured in Madonna's Sticky and Sweet Tour (In a video at least) which they say it's Human Nature that will be mixed with Gimme More and will feature Britney in the video.

However a source on Fanzine claims that Britney is involved but in Give It To Me.. alongside Justin, Timbaland and Nelly Furtardo who will sing a mash up (possibly live with Madonna at some video) they claim M was shown the video below and loved it so is trying to get everyone involved.

We dont know what to believe but this mash up is hot stuff!

Nelly Furtardo: Give It To Me

This video of Nelly Furtardo singing Give It To Me, includes her singing a bit of Madonna's Give It To Me at the end of the song! It's pretty hot!

WEEZER: 'King' Bonus Track from the Deluxe Edition [The Red Album]

The latest Weezer Album has a Deluxe Edition with several extra tracks. One of them is titled "King" and it is quite good. On this lovely day we would like to share that extra track with you. Hope you enjoy!

MADONNA: Rumored Sticky and Sweet Setlist SPOILER

Ok here we go!! Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour opens with Candy Shop (very similar to the promo tour version) followed by a version of Beat Goes On very similar to the album version. Both Pharrell Williams and Kanye West will appear on video during the song. The third song in the setlist is the first GREAT surprise. It's the one and only Human Nature, from Bedtime Stories (and we'll not be sorry!!). The song will be presented in an original and UNIQUE way, but that's a surprise we don't want to spoil for the moment. We're sure the inclusion of this song will make lots of people very happy.

Section two of the show includes Into The Groove, a great number where she will be jumping rope with a little sample of the song "Jump" thrown in as well, followed by Heartbeat. The Fedde Le Grande version of Music, (just like the promo tour version) and She's Not Me follow.

The following section will opens with the song Devil Would Recognize You, Madonna will sing it live and play the piano onstage HERSELF for the very first time! After that we go into Miles Away, just like the promo tour, and a joyful version Spanish Lesson. Her great classic from True Blue arrives next: It's La Isla Bonita that will be presented in its "Live Earth incarnation", the Lela Pala Tute version!!! This third section is closed by one of the songs by Madonna that won an Oscar. It's the touching "You Must Love Me", the beautiful ballad from Evita, written by Tim Rice and Andrew Loydd Webber especially for Madonna in the film. This version is more or less very similar to its original form.

The closing section of the tour includes the promo tour version of 4 Minutes followed by one of the greatest surprises fans will adore: Impressive Instant from the "Music" album!! Ray of Light follows. It's basically the album version with some changes in the middle. The promo tour version of Hung Up is next. The tour closes with the latest single from Hard Candy, Give It 2 Me

But that's not all folks! Madonna is also doing a great classic for her first album and she's doing it for the first time since the Virgin Tour. It's "Borderline" that will be presented like it has never been heard before and don't forget to look out for the great tour videos that will be directed by Steven Klein, as previously reported by MadonnaTribe!!

Source: Madonna Tribe

Well here's our take on that rumored list. To hear Borderline finally after 23 years would be AMAZING, but for me thats about the only WOW moment of this rumored list. To included Music, La Isla Bonita and Ray of Light AGAIN after their inclusion at several of her recent tours and other events is so predicitable and boring, she has plenty of other CROWD PLEASERS she can include

Dress You Up
Angel
Take a Bow
Open Your Heart
Gambler ( I know we're dreaming right!)
Causing a Commotion

Drowned Madonna rumored her to be playing around with songs such as Buenos Aries, Angel, Anita Ward's Ring My Bell and Everybody,  but now are saying that Tribe's list sounds accurate. I guess time will tell!

What do you Madonna fans think of the list?
