Britney Spears is about to embark on her first tour since falling off her rocker...do you think she'll put forth a worthwhile show? I'm skeptical, but I do think that it would be great for her to come back (not just a half-assed effort) with full pop star force!
She's bringing the Pussycat Dolls along with her on The Circus Tour, above is what seems to be the official setlist. What do you think?
Update March 2nd
*Here is the official setlist posted by BritneySpears.com*

Feeling blue? No need to fear, the Pet Shop Boys are back! The snyth-tastic duo have revealed on their official website that their new album will be called Yes and the first single will be a Xenomania produced track Love, Etc. Are you looking forward to their new material?
The Pet Shop Boys have also contributed their writing and production talent to Girls Aloud's recent single, The Loving Kind.

This is a nice unexpected surprise for all of us Madonna fans. The Future lovers/ I Feel Love video used as the backdrop for the song during the Confessions Tour has been leaked and is now available for download. This is one of the best opening videos to a Madonna tour ever in my opinion and a really fantastic video!
As an added bonus there is also some raw unedited footage! (Format is Mp4)

Well what do ya know? Jamie King has signed on to be the official musical director for Britney's Circus Tour. Lets hope that he doesn't just rehash ideas taken from Madonna's 'Confessions' and 'Reinvention' tours (like the Spice Girls Reunion Tour), everyone using him is getting kinda tired.

That rasp is back! Macy Gray has returned with Slap a Bitch. You can check out the video and track below. I'm sharing the dirty version with you!

We will slap a bitch if you don't rate this track or leave a comment! :)

Continuing with the Madonna theme, here are some more of the Sticky And Sweet Backdrops that have leaked onine, the most recent being the 'Die Another Day' one, I love it! 'The Candy Factory' one is an early version. The YouTube user says the version of ' The Candy Factory' used in the tour will leak shortly so we'll see....

If you've been following along colleceting the Madonna Sticky and Sweet Tour Studio Demos we have a treat for you today! 'Die Another Day' has leaked as well as the high quality version of 'Beat Goes On'. Lets all remember the tour and groove to these!

Wow what a GREAT year of music in my opinion, there have been so many brilliant records from artists that are new to me and old favorites. Compiling a top 10 is no easy feat but here goes, in no particular order.
Santogold - Santogold. One of the most original albums I've heard in a while, love this one all the way through. Missed seeing her at Summer Stage though, but heard her from outside the closed of gates! LOL :(
Erykah Badu - New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War. A long wait for this one, but it certainly was worth it. As always an album with a message, portrayed through creative lyrics that make you think but songs that get you grooving!
Jill Scott - The Real Thing: Words and Sounds vol 3. This one took me some time to get into but seeing her live in concert really brought it home, and now I really love this album. Classic poetic lyrics from Jill!
Grace Jones - Hurricane. Waited for this one for a really long time, I expected it to be good, but nothing on the scale of greatness that this is. It's modern Grace yet with elements of those classic 80's tracks. Every song here is a winner!
Madonna - Hard Candy. I had low expectations for this based on the leaked demos of Candy Shop and Beat Goes On. I still don't feel like this is as much 'Madonna' as some of the other recent albums, but I wont hold that against it. I love Give It To Me and She's Not Me. The Beat Goes On improved a lot, and Miles Away is fabulous in every sense of the word. The most 'Madonna' track on the album if you ask me.
The Pretenders - Break Up The Concrete. I either excited or bored you with the tracks from this one, week by week as they were released this year. I didn't really start to get into it as a whole album until I had the complete set. I saw them live this year and like with Jill, it brought the album alive!
Cyndi Lauper - Bring Ya To The Brink. Who knew that Cyndi Lauper would come out with such a great record in 2008? I downloaded this on a whim and am glad I did, really well produced and a straight up fun record.
Estelle - Shine. American Boy was one of my soundtrack songs for the summer. The rest of the album is great too LOL
Ladyhawke - Ladyhawke. What an amazing debut, nothing disappoints here, I knew it was gonna be remarkable from the time I heard 'Back Of The Van'. As you might have noticed I love a good 80's sound!
Lykke Li - Youth Novels. It's all about 'Breaking It Up' and 'Little Bit'. Nuff Said!
Wow, I saw four of these acts live this year, and heard one but didn't see! I did pretty nicely!
What are your top albums of the year? leave em in the comments!

Kylie Minogue is coming to the end of her X tour in Australia and last night she changed things up a little and included a seasonal change, a cute rendition of 'Santa Baby'

Well this news from PJ Harvey has made my evening! There are rumored live shows also to support the new album!
"A new collaboration from PJ Harvey and John Parish is set to be released on March 30th, 2009 through Island Records. Entitled "A Woman A Man Walked By", the album was recorded in Bristol and Dorset, and mixed by Flood.
"A Woman A Man Walked By" is a follow up to Harvey and Parish's previous collaboration "Dance Hall at Louse Point" (1996).
John Parish co-produced "To Bring You My Love" (1995) and also PJ Harvey's most recent release "White Chalk" (2007). An accomplished producer and composer, John has recorded numerous soundtracks and has worked with artists including Eels and Giant Sand"
Source: Pjharvey.net
Here is one of my favorite PJ Harvey tracks 'This Is Love', from an awesome album 'Stories From The City, Stories From the Sea'

Here is Beyonce's, sorry Sasha's new video for 'Diva'. Girl sure knows how to work it! I'm still not a huge fan of the song, it's certainly no 'Single Ladies' what do you all think?

So you all might remember that there was a track called 'Across The Sky' rumored for inclusion on Madonna's Hard Candy. I believe way back before the release Timbaland spoke of it in an interview or something.
The rumor now is that it will be included on 'Shock Value 2' Timbaland's new album in a new form....
'Across The Sky' – a leftover track from Madonna's 'Hard Candy' album, which Timbaland produced many tracks for. However, this version has been completely reworked from the original leaked clip that has appeared online. Now a much darker track similar to the 'Hard Candy' track, Voices. With guest vocals from Justin Timberlake (again) and a brief appearance from the lady herself, Madonna, this song is longest of the tracks, clocking in at over 7 minutes!"
Below is the 9 seconds of the original demo that leaked way back when......

India.Arie returns with a new album, Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics, - the follow up to Arie's 2006 album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life and Relationship, which debuted at #1 on Billboard Top 200 in '06.
Here is a full stream of a track on the album called Therapy. Enjoy!

Kings of Leon have a hot rock hit with Sex on Fire, that's for sure! Check out this remix by DJ's Richard Sharkey & Peter Sar which gives the song a bit more of a dance feel. It lags a bit as the original track is much faster, but I love it anyway! If you haven't seen the video, or heard the original track...make sure to visit this post.

Oh, and did I forget to tell you its in perfect 320k quality? Hooray!
I found this track here, check them out! As always, let us know what you think of this post by using the star ratings and comments!

So as usual backdrop screens from Madonna's tour are making their way on to the net. The 'Beat Goes on' video just leaked a few days ago. The 'She's Not Me' one has been around forever, but I just came across it recently and never posted it, so here they both are Enjoy!

So apparently Ladyhawke, isn't the only one who has taken a stab at covering Britney's Womanizer. Here is Lily Allen with her version. I prefer to this to the Ladyhawke take on the song, nice guitars!

One of my favorite blogs, WeLikeIt.Indie alerted us to the fact that Lykke Li recently did a gig at the LA spot Not To Be Reproduced. Below you can check out 'After Laughter' and if you click here you can see the rest! I love the atmosphere here with the purple lighting, must have been a great gig!

Well if this isn't a case of speak of the devil, I don't know what it is! After a post a few days back about the new Robyn and Röyksopp collaboration, out of the blue the band appears with a new website and a new track! These guys have been around 10 years and to celebrate they offer this track!
Happy Birthday (Download)

As you all know we love a bit of Girls Aloud over here! A few nights ago they hosted 'The Girls Aloud Party' and did a bunch of performances and skits, I haven't watched it all yet but what I have is great! You can all follow suit and watch the whole thing here.
I know we've posted about the last two albums before so here is a performance of a track of one of their older albums, 'Something Kind of Ooohhh'
What do you think of Girls Aloud? love em or loathe em?

Lady Gaga has really made a household name of herself since the debut of her single Just Dance over the summer. I have to respect the girl for even though I was a bit disappointed in debut album, The Fame. I thought she sounded too much like a mix between Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani. She is slowly finding her place in pop music, and I now find myself wanting to see more from her, and watch her develop as an artist.
Check out this recent appearance on Good Morning America, Gaga is interviewed by Kathie Lee of all people!
Don't forget to check out our interview with Lady Gaga earlier this year!

Not even Q-Tip expected Prince to jump on stage while he was performing during his show at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.
Here is an excerpt from Prefix, who have the full story...
According to DJ Scratch, who's on tour with Q-Tip, no one had any idea this would happen. "Yo, while me and Q-Tip were performing "Vivrant Thing" in Vegas last night...this nigga Prince walked out on the stage, took the guitar from our guitar player and just started rocking!"
Here is the performance, let us know what you think in the comments...or use the star ratings!

Check out Keyshia Cole explaining her new sound and the inspiration for A Different Me. I have to say the album is great if you a looking for a fun R&B/Soul joint to listen to. My favorite tracks are Erotic, Please Don't Stop and Brand New. It's out now on iTunes and in all stores near you! It's definitly a change for Keyshia, who has let go of the hood chick vibe for a more sultry and sexier style...
We always want to know what you think! Let us in the comments or if you don't have the time...a star rating will suffice!

U.K. hip hop/pop sensation Lady Sovereign is back with a new upbeat track complete with vocoder manipulated vocals. Hmmm, sounds like Kanye West isn't the only one bringing back the vocoder! I like the track though, it got me dancin'. Get it? ;)
Lady's new album will be released on April 9th, it will be called Jigsaw. Read more information on the release here.

After an eternity away Natalie Imbruglia's fourth album is finally on the way! She posted an update on her website, detailing that she is currently choosing singles and working on the visuals.
The album is going to include tracks she has written with Ben Hillier, Dave McCracken, Daniel Johns, Gary Clark, Jamie Hartman, Paul Harris and Shep Solomon amongst others.
The first single will be out in February! While we wait for that, here's a flashback to 'That Day'

Robyn has done a song for Röyksopp's next album. A collaboration was rumored earlier this year, but now it is official and has been recorded! She confirmed it in this video interview for Swedish MTV at the opening of her new photo exhibit in Sweden. In case you don't know Swedish here are the main points!
Some new info:
* Robyn took 500 snapshots and selected 20 for her Stockholm exhibit
* She feels good to be home again and meet family and friends
* Robyn has done a song for Röyksopp's new album
* The Snoop collaboration (the song we haven't heard yet) is supposed to be "very very funny"
* It took only a few hours for her to write the lyrics to With Every Heartbeat

Common and Cee-Lo performed ' Make My Day' on Ellen. Them dancing with her is so cute! I love Ellen! This is such a summer song, the fact that Common's album was pushed back is really the worst, this would have been so great this summer! Anyway 'Universal Mind Control' has finally been released yay!

The Ravonettes have done a Christmas EP. Not something I would ever have expected but hey ho! This track 'Come on Santa' is taken from it. It is a nice laid back mellow track for you to enjoy while you sip some Eggnog on a cold winters night ;)
Come On Santa (Download)

This is a really decent track, the inclusion of Lykke Li on a track with Kanye West and Santogold is a bit of a surprise, but it works, probably due to the fact she doesn't get much air time LOL
This song comes from 'The Spirit of Apollo' due to be released on feb 17th. N.A.S.A is a project of DJ Zegon and Squeak E. Clean.

The Chilean Madonna fans got a real treat a few days ago when they witnessed Madonna rehearsing 'Into The Groove' before the Sticky and Sweet show there started. She even jump roped all the way down to the end of the catwalk and back up again, before singing 'Into The Groove'! Rumor has is this was filmed for the documentary. Check it out!

"Eve, Cher called, she wants the vocoder back!"
Who'd have thought that Eve of all people would use the vocoder on a track?! This is an interesting little track, more dancey than Eve usually comes with with. I can see myself setting a club on fire to this, you know with some hot dance moves ;)

After only a few months off after losing three members of her family under tragic circumstances, Jennifer Hudson is back to work, she is about to film the video for her next single 'If This Isn't Love'. She also received four Grammy Nominations for her album!
If This Isn't Love (Download)

This is a hot new track from M.I.A and Indian composer A.R Rahman wrote for the movie 'Slumdog Millionaire' Enjoy!

Mariah Carey's 'Merry Christmas' Cd is one on the most essential chistmas albums in my opinion. She recently sung 'Please Come Home For Christmas' live at the Grammy Nominations party and well it's kinda fun. I enjoy them throwing out the presents LOL, but the ways Mariah sings it is nothing compared to the album version, her voice is not like it used to be!

Britney Spears is riding a wave of success right now as her album has hit #1 this week! It's not a bad effort, most of the tracks are perfect pop songs that will get you hot in the clubs. Check out the first remix of Circus, the second single off the album of the same name. It's mixed by Jason Nevins!

Check out this fan report of the taping of last nights show in Argentina for the Sticky and Sweet Tour DVD. Which has been officially confirmed by Madonna.com
"It's DVD time! And Madonna certainly made it up for her Argentine fans whose vision was blocked by the cameras, because she gave one of her best shows of the tour! She was in a great mood all evening and she even said "it's been 13 years since I was here, never again" and that she's not gonna wait that long for the next time, right before the Evita medley.
That's right, Don't Cry For Me Argentina was sung for the DVD! The end of the performance once again featured the "Argentina!" chant by the crowd. This was extended after Ray Of Light where the awesome crowd started chanting "Madonna!" and the Queen, in one of her most moving moments, said: "Thank you for saying that, I love to hear that name because that is the name of my mother. If only she could see me now!" and she chanted "Argentina! I love you!" and even claimed that it was her most favourite show ever!
The request song was her signature hit Like A Virgin, obvious choice for the DVD. Monday's show will be recorded as well and the DVD will mostly likely be a mix of both shows. It's looking good for a fantastic DVD so far!
(This is the video from last night, bear with it, he gets it right with a nice close up of the screen a few seconds in!)

I know we obsess over Grace Jones here but she's such a legend and the new album is amazing! This is a performance of 'Williams' Blood' and an interview from Le Grand Journal, a French TV show. I love how she starts completely covered up only to unleash the cloak to reveal PVC panties and boots! Plus the tambourine usage is a nice touch in my book!
In the second video she is being interviewed with her son, but unfortunately it is of course in French, but still worth a look if only for her flashing her lady parts at the camera in the first few seconds, Oh Grace! LOL

Yay! Today we hit another milestone! We have hit a thousand posts! Imagine that?! A thousand posts filled with music and videos for you (and us) to enjoy!
In celebration we offer you a classic track from Annie Lennox's album 'Bare' which was released in 2003, called 'A Thousand Beautiful Things' (Get the tie in? LOL) Enjoy!
Thanks to all our loyal visitors!

Well you know we love a bit of Keyshia Cole over here on Hard Candy. Here is a new track featuring Lil' Wayne. I feel like this could have been really great, but to me its just lacking a little something. Still maybe it will grow on me. What do you all think?
I Love You (Download)

Brandy stopped by The Morning Show this morning and sung 'Right Here' and 'Long Distance', in support of her album 'Human' that hits stores tomorrow. I really enjoy these but if u ask me she hasn't done anything truly great since 'The Boy Is Mine'. Bring back MONICA!
1. Dark End Of The Street (James Carr, Aretha Franklin) *
Tomorrow the soulful lady known as Cat Power releases her EP 'Dark End Of The Street' comprised of 6 songs that did not make the cut for the Jukebox album, released in January of this year. The title track is a gorgeous cover of the track made famous by James Carr and Aretha Franklin, and its simply divine check it out!
Dark End Of The Street Tracklist:
2. Fortunate Son (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
3. Ye Auld Triangle (The Pogues) *
4. I’ve Been Loving You Too Long (To Stop Now) (Otis Redding)
5. Who Knows Where The Time Goes (Sandy Denny / Fairport Convention) *
6. It Ain’t Fair (Aretha Franklin)

Oh joy! Mariah returns to acting in 'Tennessee' due in 'select theatres' in March, 2009 *cough* straight to dvd? *cough*. Today the video has premiered, featuring clips of her in the movie and singing in a studio.
I do hope the movie is as good as Glitter, that was so bad it was great, plus in all honesty I loved the soundtrack. So shoot me!

Check out the cute new video for 'The Fear' by Lily Allen, I love the dancing balloon and present people!
This track is taken from Lily's new album 'It's Not Me, It's You' which Blender describes as 'part God, part country and all middle finger' looking forward to THAT then!

The video for the Pet Shop Boys/Xenomania produced track The Loving Kind off Out Of Control..the latest release from Girls Aloud. This video is their best so far, the girls look great and the concept is pure pop video. I'm all about the intro sequence with all the red, silver and white squares, love it!

Wow! Argentina really got a treat tonight, after visiting the Casa Rosada yesterday, Madonna slipped back into the Evita era again today! Following You Must Love Me she performed Don't Cry For Me Argentina, for the first time in 12 years for an excited crowd!

Wow! Check out the new Louis Vuitton photos featuring Madonna. The styling/concept of this photo shoot almost reminds me of Roisin Murphy's amazing video for Let Me Know. It's somewhat of a stretch, but I think you'll see what I mean.
Look at those heels, look at that outfit, look at the poses! Hot! Steven Meisel is the mastermind behind the shoot, i've always loved his work...such a creative mind! You can find all information on the photo shoot from our friends at MadonnaTribe. Show them some love!

“Show me a beautiful girl and I will show you someone that is tired of fucking her"
These words uttered by a cynical and tired stripper in the latter part of the movie, define MADONNA’s debut film, FILTH & WISDOM. The storyline is riddled with cliche characters...one outdoing another. Scenes are drenched with Hollywood emotions, almost making you think your return from the restroom was to the theater showing a torture session of High School Musical 3. I must say some of the montages were absolutely hilarious, aside from the parts that Madonna throws in dancers from her music videos.
As cliched as the characters may be, they were portrayed and dressed brilliantly. There is fine line of dry reality that makes the film a pleasure to watch. This film will shock and make the most stern of audiences laugh. I suggest you go and see this film, not every director can create a perfect film...but the ability to change the emotional state of an individual makes Filth and Wisdom worthy of any Friday night's viewing.

The remix of Like a Prayer that is currently being performed on Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour is actually a mash up version of a song that's called Feels Like Home. Check it out!
Feels Like Home (TV Rock vs Dino Mix)
This is my favorite set of the show, really creative and it filled the arena with energy...watch now!

This is so awesome and a definite stop next time I'm in New York City! There is a now a Rock and Roll Annex in NYC, it is an offshoot of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. (Sidenote - I mean really, who goes on a trip there and can go see that?) It features artifacts, video instillation's and special exhibits from different Rock and Roll eras.
You can see everything from Madonna's Blond Ambition gold corset and Keith Haring jacket to Jimi Hendrix's handwritten lyrics!
