The Pretenders have posted a cool competition on their website! You can win the chance to shoot a fan video for 'Boots of Chinese Plastic' in Los Angeles. The video will feature some friends of PETA such as Pamela Anderson.
All you have to do is make a video lip syncing to 'Boots of Chinese Plastic' and be sure to show off your plastic boots ;) then upload it to YouTube to enter! More details can be found here. Post the links to your videos in the comments!

The Coachella 2009 line up has been announced and tickets are now on sale via ticketmaster, If you can't afford tickets right now you can even do it on layaway! I wont be making the trip but the line up looks pretty decent. Let's hope Amy Winehouse makes it and debuts some new material! Anyone going??

Some are brilliant and better than the shots that made the released materials. It's interesting to see what she looked like in some of these images before they were photoshopped to death!

If you are a Madonna fan you must remember the controversy surrounding the release of the 'American Life' video in 2003, which resulted in Madonna pulling the video after just one day on the air. This morning I was sent Metronomy's remix of Temposhark's track Not That Big which featuring the sultry vocals of Imogen Heap! This track was originally released last year on Temposhark's album The Invisible Line. Metronomy works its remix magic, as they always do! Imogen is back in the studio recording, hopefully we'll see a new album in '09!

Well this is a first! Madonna.com confirmed today that the rumors are true! Madonna will be touring Europe this summer! They say that more details will be coming this week. We know that Madonna Tribe has suggested this is a continuation of the Sticky and Sweet Tour (and they are usually spot on)
I hope that this is either a brand new show to support the greatest hits or a greatly revised Sticky and Sweet show. People gave her a lot of suggestions for songs in the request section of the Sticky and Sweet Tour in 2008 so lets hope she uses them! Come on Madonna its time for Dress You Up and Open Your Heart!

We are happy to confirm that the rumors are true: Madonna has decided to extend her 'Sticky & Sweet' Tour. She is looking forward to an amazing summer in Europe, hitting the cities she didn't get a chance to in 2008.

'Koo Koo' the first solo Debbie Harry album flopped, and flopped badly which I hate! It's my favorite solo album of hers and I love the Chic influence, which curiously helped make a lot of artists albums a success a few years after this, and worked well on the Diana Ross album 'Diana' not long before. Maybe in Debbie's case it was just not the sound people wanted to here from her coming off the back of disco flavored songs like 'Heart of Glass' that everybody loved.
I think part of the reason it flopped so badly is that people just couldn't take this new Debbie. The Giger image used for her cover art was totally unexpected and shocking. I love that she was bold and used it, but it probably didn't help sell the album LOL. Anyway I personally love it I have it hanging on my wall, but I guess a lot of people couldn't take it back then. Here she was the pretty blonde pin up with skewers through her face and her hair pulled back. Sexy? Not so much!
I guess 'Backfired' pretty much sums up, this overlooked album in relation to the charts...

On Friday night I went to Celine Dion in concert. I was very impressed with the show, her voice is amazing live. It is not often I find myself with the opportunity to see a true 'vocalist' live, so seeing her belt out her biggest hits so perfectly was amazing! She truly knows how to sing a song with emotion and make you really feel it! The show did not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it really didn't need it. It was all about her and the VOICE , it didn't need 3435 different stages and dancers like others use (mentioning no names of course!)
Not only was her singing fantastic, but she also really had fun with the audience and was very sincere in her interaction with us. Gloria Estefan was in the audience and she got a shout out and was shown on the screens. As a funny tribute to her friend Celine did a couple lines from 'Conga' and danced around the stage which was HILARIOUS! (I must find a YouTube video). The whole show she was cracking me up with her facial expressions, she's such a dork LOL
Among my highlights of the show are; Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore, Because You Loved Me, Alone, I'm Alive and River Deep Mountain High in which she ended up twirling her microphone stand around like it was a baton LOL. Anyway it was a great night and my opinion of her has greatly improved after this live experience..

I've just stumbled across Chairlift, the band that had a feature in one of Apple's commercials for the iPod using their song Bruises. The 30 second or so clip that you hear in the feature doesn't even being to show the greatness of this track! I suggest you check out this bands entire album, Does You Inspire You. It's a real treat!

Whoa! These are a couple of the outtakes that have surfaced this evening from Madonna's Hard Candy photo sessions. I REALLY dislike the thong with those tights, but other than that I think these are pretty cool, kinda weird and kooky! Her body is amazing!
Could it be that Whitney Houston's comeback is finally imminent? The New York Post reports that she will debut new music at Clive Davis' annual Pre Grammy party. Clive also says that her new album will be released in March. While this sounds interesting, haven't we heard this before? I swear this was reported last year, or the year before... I wish she'd just get on with it!

Boy George was found guilty late last year of falsely imprisoning a male escort in 2007. On Friday, a judge in London sentenced the singer to 15 months in jail. Judging by the picture someone was not very happy about it!
I wasn't a fan of Alesha Dixon's original version of The Boy Does Nothing. However, I am a fan of Fred Falke...and he turned this mediocre track into a retro disco smasher!

Juliette Lewis just blogged on MySpace that Juliette and the Licks are no more. However, she has a new band aptly titled Juliette and the New Romantiques. A new record and sound are expected soon!
So with sadness we say farewell to to the Licks, who provided us with some great albums but at least Juliette is sticking around!
Well by all accounts its just a few months till we get the Madonna Sticky and Sweet DVD (from which some kind soul will rip the audio so we can rock out to the live tracks on our ipods) but we now have a few tracks taken from the soundboard to tide us over!

Franz Ferdinand are back with a new album called 'Tonight' due for release at the end of the month. I quite enjoy 'Ulysses' the first track taken from the album (see video below.)

Usually I don't like acoustic covers of songs (especially pop songs) however indie duo THE BIRD & THE BEE have done it right with their take on Don't Stop The Music by Rihanna. Nothing works better for promotion than a cover of an already popular song (for both artists)!

Kanye West leaked the new Peter, Björn & John track, Nothing To Worry About on his official blog yesterday. It has a sick beat, and great catchy chorus. I am very impressed and can't wait to play it out on my ipod! Hopefully the leak was intentional, otherwise the boys of PB&J must be pretty pissed at 'Mr. West Now.' Enjoy!

Each Time You Break My Heart is a song written and produced by Madonna and Steven Bray. It was given to Nick Kamen who had a hit in Europe with the song that featured Madonna on backing vocals. Last year Madonna's solo demo version leaked online. Here it is!
