Gogol Bordello:Live At Brooklyn Bowl
Gogol Bordello surprised everyone this week by announcing a show on Monday that was happening Tuesday night at the Brooklyn Bowl. This was the record release party for Trans-Continental Hustle their latest album, that I have been playing incessantly since it rather randomly ended up in my lap few weeks ago. This was the first time I had seen Gogol Bordello, but after having heard rave reviews of their live act from friends my expectation for the gig were pretty high – needless to say the were far exceeded!
I expected things to get crazy but was shocked by how quickly it happened – first song in and I was in the best mosh pit ever. Live performing is what this bunch of crazy ‘gyspy punks’ do best – the energy level of every single person on stage was at a premium and the raw talent from these weird and wonderful musicians is undeniable.
You simply must see this band live! For a little taster check out the videos – forgive the shakiness taping in a mosh pit ain’t easy!
