CSS: ‘La Liberación’ album news!

Got tired of being sexy!

Quirky Brazillian electro-ravers CSS will return this Summer with their third studio album!

My first taste of CSS came in ’04 while I was on vacation in San Francisco, a bar had the music video of Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death From Above playing. The off-beat electro production had me at first listen and the video starts off with an owl/ghost on a stick, so I was pretty much sold (and drunk!)

Their third studio album, La Liberación drops on August 22nd with Hits Me Like a Rock leading as first single. The track features Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream. Another track off the set, Red Alert will feature Ratatat (!).

Lead singer Lovefoxxx dished about the autobiographical City Grrrl, saying…

“I revisited my teenage years while living in the suburbs of my hometown. I’d be on the floor of my bedroom making the most ridiculous clothes and glue fake colored hair or x-ray pictures on clothes. I’d be sporting goth make up at 8am and when I hit the streets people would curse me from their cars in the most aggressive way.  [Calling me] ‘drag queen’, ‘whore.’  The song captures the sentiment of feeling like a true outsider and yearning to escape to a big city to find fellow outcasts.”
