Shame is one of the more well-known track from Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King. This track was released in ’78 and has been being played ever since. It has been covered Zhane and Kim Wilde but no versions compare to that of Evelyn. Her youthful passionate vocals tell us a tale of a love that is said to be wrong, and how ending her love would be a shame.
Shame is a fairly short song that always gets a crowd to the dance-floor and is still requested today. Theres a great extended mix/album version that keeps you dancing for 3 minutes longer – a must have! Shame is also one of the first songs inducted into the Dance Music Hall Of Fame back in 2004, and with one listen you will hear why!
Other great tracks from Evelyn include Love Come Down, I’m In Love and a personal favorite Give It Up. A few years back I got the pleasure of seeing Evelyn perform all these and more and I can describe her performance and vocals in one word… WOW!
