Roisin Murphy with Luca C & Brigante: Flash Of Light

It’s here! The album version of Flash of Light, a collaboration between Irish goddess Roisin Murphy and Italian duo Luca C & Brigante. Flash of Light made is premiere via Maxii Soundsystem, on his latest Beats in Space radio show. Roisin’s soars through the 6 minute affair, set a top a hypnotic tropical/nu disco beat. She recently took to her Facebook page to talk a little about the track, which she reflects as encapsulating the ‘last night on earth’ and ‘a forewarning of the end of an era, and a last chance to love.’ That’s right, now go out and find love – just in case the world ends at the end of 2012. Hidden deep within Flash Of Light is a melancholic and regretful tone, the ‘end of an era.’

When a friend of mine introduced me to the music of Luca C & Brigante I was stuck with an apocaliptic feeling, as if I were listening to the sound of a party at the end of the world. And with such strong imagery coming to mind I was only too happy to write with them when they asked. Flash of Light is about that last night on earth, a forewarning of the end of an era and a last chance to Love.

If we’ve got you stuck on Ro, check out the Solomun remix of Flash of Light and a clip of Non Credere, another track with Luca C & Brigante sung entirely in Italian. I’ll speak for everyone in saying this: it’s time for a new album, Ro!

Are you loving Flash Of Light?
