Just a little while ago we got word that Little Boots is set to release her sophomore album ‘Nocturnes‘ on May 6th. It was produced by DFA Records co-founder Tim Goldsworthy, and we’re excited to learn that it also has contributions from Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Hercules and Love Affair’s Andy Butler.
Along with the announcement comes the teaser track ‘Motorway,’ a dreamy delight with breathy vocals and shimmery synths. It sounds like she’s heading in a good direction and I have high hopes for the album!
Little Boots enlists Maya Jane Coles for her latest track, ‘Superstitious Heart’ released under the pseudonym ‘LB.’ Listen below.
Is it just me or is there a sliver of Cathy Dennis classic ‘Too Many Walls’ on the verses? ‘Superstitious Heart’ is available for a limited time on slick vinyl right hereand features the Baunz produced track ‘Whatever Sets You Free.’
Nottingham’s Ronika takes it slow with Little Boots just a bit, sending us into a 90’s freestyle affair on her rework of The Knocks produced Headphones. I still can’t get enough of the Dimitri From Paris rework which samples Into The Groove, it’s delicious! Grab the dub free here.
Moon Boots works his space-age disco magic on The Knocks produced Headphones, the latest track from Brit pop starlet Little Boots. It’s all worth hitting the 3 minute mark – you can never go wrong with that house piano!
You can grab the Headphones remix EP on iTunes now – it’s jam packed with all kinds of flavors of dance mixes. If you haven’t heard the sweeping Into The Groove inspired extravaganza via Dimitri From Paris you surely must download it right here.
Hot on the heels of the release of the epic Dimitri From Paris remix of the latest Little Boots single Headphones comes the premiere of the official video. She wanders into a seedy club and becomes magically transformed into a disco diva when she puts on her headphones.
What do you think of the video? Let us know in the comments!
Basically it goes without saying that any remix that uses the Madonna classic Into The Groove is gonna be a winner for me. Dimitri from Paris kills it on this dub remix of Little Boots’ latest single Headphones.
The new Little Boots album is shaping rather nicely, she started off with the brilliant piano house flavored Every Night I Say A Prayer, now she’s just dropped the first remix of her next single Headphones, which is a collaboration with our favorites The Knocks.
It’s a delightful disco flavored number boasting gorgeous melodies. More remixes are on the way from Dimitri from Paris, The Knocks , and Ronika. We’re eager to hear more! The album will be released in the Fall.
Those of you who’ve been following Little Boots since the beginning will remember that she was discovered after uploading videos of her performing songs in her bedroom to YouTube. She takes it back to those days with the acoustic keyboard version of her new single Every Night I Say A Prayer she just shared with us.
Make sure you watch this all the way through, it really picks up in the middle and gets real interesting with the addition of those interesting dog woofs… just wait and see!
We love it when artists do this sort of thing, she clearly hasn’t forgotten her roots! Yay, Little Boots! Do you love it?
Have you grabbed the free download of the original version of this? If not, get on it!
Remember when I told you the album version of Little Boots Every Night I Say a Prayer was killer? Now’s your chance to listen to the original cut, after being teased with the singles remixes last week.
Every Night was produced by Andy Butler of Hercules & Love Affair. Stabbing pianos, 90’s house flavor, full of ohhh, ohh’s. Loving it! Download below.
