It’s hard to believe it’s been years since Miami Horror‘s debut album Illumination. Fast forward to 2013, and their new track “Real Slow” has us taken back to those sunny days at the beach. It feels like they’ve never left.
The production on “Real Slow” is ace, with glistening piano stabs and a thumping bass backed beat. Listen below.
A word from producer Benjamin Plant on the meaning of “Real Slow.”
“…It’s about finding that place or person were you feel secure enough to take things slowly. We wanted to write a song that is more than just a concept, we wanted to write about something we were actually experiencing rather than something imagined. We wanted to see how that emotion translated into our music. I’ve never been a huge fan of listening to songs about love, no matter how painful or joyous they are, they can seem mediocre, but once you have those experiences for yourself then suddenly, all those songs make sense and become something you can really feel.”
Their second album is set for release in Spring 2014.
Miami Horror have just released their ‘Pink Grapefruit’ mix, as you might expect it’s a delightful mix of dance jams that will have you tapping your feet along to the rhythm while getting through the work day. All we need now is a new album, hurry up lads!
We set out to make a summer mixtape for all our Australian/Southern Hemisphere friends and ended up with this (and enough extra songs to make part 2!)

I’m delighted with this new mix of Miami Horror’s Holidays provided by Lenno & Jesse Oliver, and I’m pretty sure that you’re gonna feel the same!
I’ve long been a fan of the track in original form, so thankfully this mix does the original justice! It provides an interesting spin with the addition of plenty of extra synths and significant increase in pace!
It’s inspired a revisit of Illuminationwhich is one of my favorite albums in recent memory!
I’ve just stumbled across this splendid mashup of Lady Gaga‘s Telephone and Miami Horror‘s Moon Theory (Punks Jumps Up Remix) created by 19-year-oldDJ Flipboitamidles.
He nicely blends the two tracks, and works in elements of A Dream Within a Dream by Glitch Mob and Martin Solveig‘s Hello. He has even made his own beats for the Beyonce section. This guy has some serious skills, give it up for him in the comments!
How is this for timing? Just as we’ve officially reached the end of Summer, along comes this delightful remix of Miami Horror‘s Summersun by Cadillac!
So while the timing may be a tad off for us moving into Fall, the great thing is that it’s such a brilliant mix it temporarily eases the pain! Close your eyes and drift away with this one (don’t let your boss catch you!)
