So far i’m loving We Found Love, Where Have You Been?, Drunk On Love and Farewell – it seems like this album has more urban influences than her previous albums. From the clips, it doesn’t sound too appealing. Maybe RiRi should have taken a bit more of a break between Loud and this new set.
We’ve been loving this tune since its release a few weeks ago, and now to top it off Rihanna has just released a brilliant video for We Found Love, which was shot in Belfast. She had this to say about the release..
“This is probably one of the deepest videos I’ve ever done. It’s all about love and love being like a drug… you definitely get that from this. The good feeling of it and the dangers of it. That’s what this is about.”
I’m so impressed by this, the video could have gotten a throw away treatment, but instead it is one of her best videos to date. I hope she sticks with the roll she is on and continues to dig deep when she puts out videos. We need more people to return to making memorable videos with a message!
The Coldplay and Rihanna collaboration Princess Of China taken from their forthcoming album Mylo Zyloto has arrived!
I would never have seen this collaboration coming, but on first listen I’m really enjoying it. Their voices work well together and I’m loving the synths.
Talking with Rolling Stone, Chris Martin had this to say..
“We had this song called ‘Princess of China’ about two years ago that I always was secretly wanting to offer to Rihanna to sing…the sweep of the album came together and this song really fit as a sort of damaged loved song, and so after about six months of not feeling brave enough, we finally made contact with her and asked if she’d sing on it.”
Rihanna works the short blond do for her spot in a new short film fromArmani and Steven Klein. RiRi uses her car as a guard so she can strip down to her underwear, whip on jeans and a leather jacket and strut through a scary garage – all to the tune of Skin off her last album Loud.
P.S. Can’t you just hear TLC recording Skin back in the day? Ah, I wish Left Eye was still with us.
While Katy Perry goes on to release yet another single from Teenage Dream, Rihanna has left Loud behind and is already enjoying success with her latest single We Found Love, which has charted on the Billboard Hot 100 after being released last week.
Much to my delight the extended mix came my way, and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do. More people really should do extended mixes, don’t you think? Spin around your bedrooms to this one tonight!
With Cheers still riding high on the charts, today we usher in a new Rihanna era with the premiere of We Found Love, a Calvin Harris production, that is the first single from her upcoming sixth studio album due for release this fall. I’m really feeling this and can’t wait to dance to it at the club!
In other Rihanna news, she is making an appearance on one of the tracks on Mylo Xyloto, the upcoming Coldplay album. Are you excited?
The video for Cheers, the seventh single to be taken from Rihanna‘sLoud album, has just premiered. It features scenes from her recent Loud tour and her having fun back home in Barbados ( I love the shots of Ri Ri in costume for carnival!) There is even a quick Avril Lavigne cameo! Online Colleges are available for people who love music and art and want to create cool videos like this. Rihanna has a talented team of designers and producers behind her to help bring her talent to the forefront with videos like this.
In other Rihanna news, the video for Fly the collaboration with Nicki Minaj, will premiere during the MTV VMAs this Sunday night.
Rihanna‘s video for the lovely ballad California King Bed, the sixth single from Loud has just premiered. There’s not much going on besides some writhing around on a bed, but as usual she looks absolutely gorgeous! We will also be getting a video for Man Down shortly, I can’t wait to see that one, it will be a more aggressive affair than this one for sure! – Camille
